Skypod® system launched at ILS warehouse in Zakroczym

We have officially launched the Skypod® system at the ILS European Logistics and Development Centre in Zakroczym. This is the first installation of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe after more than 12 months of intensive work. ILS, part of the Inter Cars Capital Group, has significantly increased the level of automation and operational efficiency of its warehouse processes.

Skypod® - innovation in logistics process automation

The Skypod® system developed by Exotec is a solution that enables autonomous robots to transport goods in totes between racks and picking stations. More than 200 robots are currently in use at the Zakroczym warehouse, contributing to faster and more efficient order processing. The system allows four orders to be picked simultaneously at a single station, significantly speeding up the fulfilment process.

System flexibility and modularity

The rack system structure of the Skypod® system, which is more than 11 metres high, allows for maximum utilisation of the warehouse space. The system is dedicated to 'S' classification products and allows the storage of up to 100,000 stock keeping units. The modularity of the racking allows the system to be configured and expanded as required to meet the needs.

Installation in Romania

ILS is also currently installing the Skypod® system in its warehouse in Romania. Intensive work is underway to implement this technology.

Further expansion of the system

ILS is planning further expansion of the Skypod® system. The development of this solution will allow the company to respond even better to the dynamically changing needs of the market and customers, ensuring faster order fulfilment through more automated logistics processes.
