Students from European technical and vocational schools will fight for the title of the Best Young Car Mechanic 2021. The International Finale of the 5th edition of the Competition will be held at the Inter Cars Training Centre in Cząstkow Mazowiecki.
In the International Finale of Young Car Mechanic, 7 winners of the national editions of the competition from Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Poland and Hungary will take part. During the two days of the Competition, they will have 10 practical tasks to perform, prepared by the organizer in cooperation with partners of the event. In order to win, the participants will have to prove that they can, among other things, diagnose and repair a modern Diesel engine, change oil and timing belt, regulate the exhaust fumes treatment system. Poland will be represented by Łukasz Pajor from Automotive Schools Complex named after Tadeusz Tański in Nowy Sącz, Bulgaria – Tugay Fahredin from Vocational School "Vladimir Komarov", Estonia - Kaarel Gustav Käbin from Kuressaare Regional Training Centre, Lithuania – Edvinas Mortūnas from Vilnius School of Automotive Mechanics and Business, Latvia – Marcis Bimsteins from Riga State Technical School, Ukraine – Yurii Yatsyshyn from Separate Structural Unit Automobile and Road Construction Professional College of Lviv Polytechnic National University, Hungary - Zsolt Ölbei from Sándor Lukács Technical School of Automotive Industrie and Mechanics - Vocational Centre of Győr.
The tasks to be tackled by the participants come from a contemporary garage and reflect the real work of a mechanic. Their craftsmanship will be assessed by judges, who are experienced practitioners in the profession, paying attention to practical skills and knowledge.
This year's international finale of Young Car Mechanic will be organized in line with strict sanitary rules. Thanks to this, the fight for victory will be held in a safe manner for the health of participants and their teachers, who have also been invited to Poland.

The International Finale of Young Car Mechanic is not only a time to find who the winners are and award the title of Best Young Mechanic 2021, but also the opportunity to exchange experiences, mutual learning and gaining motivation by young people to further develop their passion for cars. The competition at the Inter Cars Training Centre is a unique opportunity for the students and teaching staff of automotive schools to meet representatives of the automotive industry from several European countries in one place.
Every year, the competition is supported by the most respected brands on the passenger car and truck market, which supply spare parts and garage equipment. All of them are involved in creating attractive forms of delivering up-to-date knowledge and skills needed to service and repair cars. Partners in this year's international finale are: Bosch, Castrol, ContiTech, Elring, Febi, Man+Hummel, Meyle, Motoremo, Schefler, Valeo, ZF Aftermarket and Shell. The project also received support from the EU's Erasmus+ programme.
About the competition
Young Car Mechanic is an international competition for students of technical and vocational automotive schools organized by Inter Cars SA with its business partners. Its aim is to promote a positive image of a car mechanic profession among young people, exchange of experiences and learning methods, as well as finding and supporting young talents in the field of car mechanics and servicing.
